Question by  Dani (25)

What is the cost of replacing a timing belt for a Honda Civic?

I want to make sure I have enough money saved to fix the timing belt on my Honda, I also want to make sure the dealership is not ripping me off.

The cost of replacing a timing belt for a Honda Civic can be pricey. you have to weigh in the pros and cons, dealer or non dealer. but any shop is going to charge you labor and you have to add that to the cost but the average price can be $250-700 just for the belt.

Really if you want a truly accurate price you need to contact local shops in your are. Tell them as much information as possible about what you need done. They should be able to give you a general idea of the cost involved. Just try a couple of different shop to make sure you get a good deal.

You will need to go in have an estimate done on the car. It will be a good thing to have more than one estimate though, so shop around. You will find the right price to pay for it. Or you could go into an auto parts store and tell them what the make and model of the car.
