First of all take on switch gear arrangement for the garage. Then give the input wire from the our house properly. Then take connection through the switch gear to all appliance of the garage. each appliance should have separate switch arrangement. The proper earthing should down to the new connection.

You would want to run your circuit underground. Depending upon if you putting in a sub panel or not I would simply use UF which is rated for barriel.
