Fill a bucket with 8 parts water, 1 part bleach, and 1/2 part liquid dishwashing detergent. Using a sponge or washcloth wipe down walls thoroughly without oversoaking the walls. Wait 10-15 minutes then re-wipe with a clean cloth and warm water.

Generally speaking, drywall that has mildew on it should be removed and replaced. If you want to try to clean it, bleach is best.

You can use bleach, water and a scrub brush. You may have to scrub it more than once. Just be careful if you are allergic to mold.

If you have mildew spots, such as on your bathroom ceiling and wall area, I have found the easiest way is to use a sponge dipped in bleach. Be sure to wear protective eye wear and do NOT combine with any type of ammonia product. Just wipe down the area and the mildew will disappear.
