Take a stainless steel cleaning wipe and rub the coin. If that doesn't work use a mildew cleaner. A natural home made remedy includes taking 2 table spoons of baking soda and make a small paste with them. Take this paste and rub it on the coin. The mildew will come off.

First you will need to soak them in Hot water for about 10 minutes then drain. Second you will create a mixture in seperate bowl using two tablespoons of baking soda, one tablespoon of vinegar(white or cider)and a pinch of salt. The mixture might fizz or bubble. Soak for ten minutes, then use a scouring pad to wipe off mildew. Then rinse and let dry.

A "scouring pad" to clean a COIN???! It makes no sense to clean any coin! See below! While the best coin is bright-unblemished-uncirculated, there is a place for coins that have "natural" aging, marks and wear. Nothing takes value off a coin than someone trying to clean it!  add a comment

Beware!! Self-cleaning your coins will destroy any numismatic value!!!! If you are talking about the green that you see occasionally on a Penny, it may not be worth it. If the coin has no value anyway, why clean it? If it has value, you'll destroy it.
