Well the best way is to apply a cleansing alcohol on the bed frame and then after that you would have to apply the lacquer onto the brass. You should use a light brush and just apply one frame of coating paint onto the brass. That said, let it sit for a bit.

Brass beds are going to be tough to apply lacquer to with a brush - it will be hard to get the nooks and crannies. The best bet for your situation is to use a spray on lacquer from a can.

You will need to make sure the brass is very clean first. Then use a small brush and have all the brush strokes going the same direction.

Clean the item very well using either a brass cleaner, or steel wool. Once your item is cleaned, take a soft cloth to remove any dust or fragments from the steel wool. Make sure you use a high quality type lacquer spray, spray the item in a ventilated area. Apply in several light coats.

You want to start out with an old rag, one that can be thrown away. Then just apply it to your rag, and a tiny bit at a time, a little goes a long way. Make sure to wipe off the excess.
