Pull the ticks off of the animals with tweezers. Then get a collar or a medicine for the animal that keeps the ticks away from their fur. Also do not allow the animals to be in areas that have a lot of ticks such as tall grass and woodland areas.

You can purchase flea and tick spray to spray all over your pets. The best thing to do for a cat or dog is to get them a flea and tick collar. They wear it on top of their normal collar and it helps to keep the ticks off your dog. It's not 100% effective though.

It is always good to bring you pet into a professional groomer for a flea and tick bath if your pet has ticks. You should also purchase Frontline, which is the number one application for preventing ticks.

The ticks must be removed immediately. Dab rubbing alcohol on them, remove them with tweezers, and place them in a container of rubbing alcohol or burn them to kill them.
