Either place the couch against the corner of a room, this will make the couch take up less space than it would being out in the middle of the room. The other option is to make the couch act as a wall and divide up your room into whatever dimensions you see fit.

Position the sectional so that it does not impede or block the flow of traffic in and out of the room. Consider how people enter the room and what activities take place in the room. Position the pieces accordingly.

This depends on the size and shape of the living room, as well as any access points in the room - places people need to walk such as closets and stairs. Look for a space that will not disrupt walking through the room, with line of sight to the television.

The curve of the L should be in the corner opposite to the entry or on the corner on the wall with the access door.
