It all depends on the size of your living room and the furniture you will be putting in it. When deciding on a layout for your furniture i suggest an open feeling. Do not clutter the area by putting furniture too close together. Allow pathways so that there is a nice flow throughoutthe area.

Best way is to get the room dimensions. Then measure each piece of furniture that is to go into the room. Make scale size cut outs of both. Take care to account for doors and windows. Arrange cut outs till desired layout.
