I want a laptop computer, but I will pretty much just be using it at my house. This is the first laptop I have bought, so I don't know much about brands or anything.
Acer makes a very durable laptop but still perfect for home use. It loads fast with Vista and has a easy keyboard. It wipes clean. The price is less than others.
Think about the features you need. See if you can get something fitting well on sale. If not consider configuring your own at Dell or another big vendor.
as ur using laptop for home purpose try to go for dell laptops as it is availble in high end configurations with low cost wll be availble with 6 vibrant colors and preloaded softwares for all ur gaming purposes. try for low configuration in dell.
Basically any of the cheaper models you find are good for home. Dont spend anymore then 500 dollars as this puts you in a higher category. Go to a place like staples or walmart or even newegg. com and they can assist you in finding a computer that suites your needs.
