Trout are able to see colors, so matching the fly color to what it eats is crucial. Research or physically finding insects in your area will enable this.

"Match the hatch" That's how you want to fish for trout. Figure out your local insect hatching times from a local bait shop and purchase flies to suit.

Dry flies are your best bet, mayfly patterns work just about everywhere and in most conditions. Caddis fly patterns are also great. They work great in rougher water. Don't forget about nymphs as well - both mayfly and caddis are always solid for most situations. For wet flies, look to a midge pattern.

Well that all depeands on alot of different things like what time of year it is, where you are fishing, what the clearity of the water is, but with that aside I like the mayflies.

I think the best kind of product would have to be the ones with the little fishes and have them move around because they like anything that moves and would easily have them not thought out and would be an easy day of fishing and relaxation on a cool summer day.
