The Baptist believe that God is the supreme being of the universe. God is spirit and all-knowing and all-powerful. God is described as three in one (the trinity): God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Baptist believe that no one stands between the believer and God.

The Baptist doctrine states that if you are to become baptist you should accept Christ as your savor and follow his lead into baptism. Baptist believe that you chose to follow Christ, therefore it must be done at an older age, baptist do not baptize their babies at birth, they instead dedicate them to the church.
