Firstly you have to put your right hand on the hockey stick with your thumb on the frontside and your left hand above the right hand.

Your strong hand should be placed at the bottom of the grip. The opposite hand should be placed around the top of the stick, used for control.

With both of your hands, if you are left handed, your left hand lower on the stick, and your right hand higher. If right handed, the opposite.
