There is nothing racist about sickle cell anemia. It does mostly affect Americans of African descent,it's a genetic blood disorder.People affected by sickle cell anemia have abnormally shaped red blood cells.Their life expectancy is shorter then expected.

It is a disorder of the blood in which the hemoglobin causes the red blood cell to be misshapen into a sickle type shape. This causes many systemic problems. The disease is inherited and is more likely to be found in people with African or Mediterranean heritage.
