Bromeliads need to be kept at temperatures around 70 degrees and higher because they are tropical plants; water in the "cup" of the plant, not the soil.

Care varies widely depending on the kind, but for the sorts most commonly sold as house plants give bright light and weekly watering or soaking during summer, monthly watering during winter (more often if you live in Florida). When the flowering center dies, save and replant any babies.

bromeliads can tolerate full sun, but not direct sun. They should be watered when the soil is dry and should be almost treated like cacti.

The plant mustn't be put on the direct sunlight, not much watering (a cup of water once a week is usually enough).
