Fuschia plants prefer cooler, shaded areas rather than direct sunlight. Fertilize every two weeks until fall begins. Make sure soil is well draining and water when it is dry. You'll have to cut back on fertilizer and watering and bring the plant inside for winter before the first frost hits.

Fuschias do well in cool spaces with early sun and afternoon shade. In summer, water at least once a week and when soil becomes dry. In winter, water at least once every two weeks. Fertilize once a week. Fertilizing on the same day each week will help flower formation. Slow-release fertilizer will feed plant several months at a time.

Fuchsia likes morning sun, or a sun-dappled shade. Water in the morning to moisten, not soak-in hot weather every day. Your fuchsia may droop on hot afternoons- misting will take care of that. This plant needs a lot of fertilizing depending on season whether you use high potassium or go nitrogen rich Tomato feed is good once flowering.

Place your fushia where it will receive indirect sunlight. They do not like the full hot sun. Water them regularly. During the blooming season which is from April through September feed your fushia with a liquid plant food.
