Process scheduling is used by multitasking operating systems such as Windows, OSX, and Linux. It is a low level(kernel space) way for the operating system to delegate processor time to various processes running on your system. This allows for efficient sharing of computer resources that runs in the background. It also gives the illusion of true concurrent processing.
