A Potlatch is a festival celebrated by the Indian Tribes on the Northwestern Pacific coast. Potlatching means "to give away"; during a potlatch the host family invites tribe members to their household for the purpose of re-distributing their wealth. A potlatch may occur for various reasons, including births, weddings, funerals.
