The prefix "oti" refers to the ears. Otibiotic ointment is likely prescribed for an ear infection or some other condition of the ear.

Do you mean antibiotic ointment? This is used for keeping a wound germ-free so that it can heal properly and not become infected. Most vets will offer this for recent surgeries on pets.

If your veterinarian prescribed otibiotic for use in your dog's ears, he/she probably has an ear infection. Otibiotic is an kind of "triple" antibiotic used for dogs.

This is one of those situations where there's been a miscommunication. The vet may have said antibiotic. If so, your pet has an infection and needs the medicine. Call the vet and ask for the instructions again. They'll be happy to help you.

It sounds like it is for an ear infection. If you have any questions about why a medicine was prescribed or how you are to apply it, I would call your vet for clarification.

Otibiotic ointment is prescribed for dogs only. This ointment is used to treat a chronic ear infection in the dog's outer ear that is also associated with yeast. Make sure that you check the possible side effects, or consult your vet before using the medication on your dog. If the side effects do occur, contact your vet immediately.

Anytime you see ot or oto in a medical term, it usually means it's for the ear. Otibiotic is given to dogs with otitis externa or outer ear infections.
