I am not a US Citizen, but have been granted permanent residence and need to change my name.

The only way you can change your name in the Untied State is that you will have to fill out an form at your local Social Security office and it will take a couple of weeks for the change to take effect.

First off you need to go to Immigration talk with those folks there and get a visa or green card i believe and that will get you started.
