Generally after a filling, the tooth will hurt a lot because of its enamel damage and disturbance to it during filling. It will settle by itself. Eat calcium supplementary.

generally taking a couple of tylenol or aspirin every hours helps. also applying cold rags or ice bags on the face in the area of the tooth will help also. sometimes using an infants teething els will also help. in general, your tooth should feel better with any of these solutions.

Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Both are strong pain relievers and available over the counter. Ice can also be applied to reduce inflammation and discomfort. Sleep as much as possible. If the filling occurred several days ago, contact the dentist to discuss whether there is other damage or something is wrong.

Aleve is a very good anti inflammitory drug. Sometimes you can have tenderness at the injection sight. The tooth should progressivly feel better. If not, get it checked.
