This is when a weak cervix causes the internal part of the cervix to efface. This can go undiagnosed because the outside of the cervix will appear differently than the inside of the cervix that is changing. This can lead to preterm labor.

Funneling is when the inside rim of the cervix has begin to dilate. This could be dangers doing a pregnancies; it could cause pre-term labor in some cases. However, some woman cervix does hold out and they are able to carry the baby to full term.

Funneling in pregnancy is the process of the cervix becoming shorter and the baby moving into position for birth. It is only dangerous if you are close to the end of your pregnancy as it is an indication of premature birth and something you should find out more about from your doctor.

Funneling which occurs during pregnany is an opening up of the cervix from the inside out as it, your cervix, can no longer support the weight of the fetus.

A normal cervix is closed on both ends. Funneling is where one end is more open. This can mean preterm labor is a higher possibility, but not certain. This can be normal if you've had previous deliveries. A lot of normal full term pregnancies occur with a little funneling, so don't worry too much!

Funneling involves the cervix. It is a thinning of the area of the cervix closest to the baby; almost dilating inside out. It's not necessarily dangerous but it does show that your cervix is unstable and that you could be at a higher risk for going into preterm labor.
