Electrical resistance quantifies the amount of current that will flow through something when a voltage is applied. If the object is "ohmic", then resistance = voltage/current and is linear.

Electrical resistance is the ratio of electrical potential (voltage) over electrical flow (current). It is a material property of how a charge can move through such material. When working with DC circuits, resistance is a direct proportion of voltage and current. However, inside an AC circuit, resistance also varies according to the signal's frequency.

Resistance is the measure of how easily electricity can move through something. It is measure in ohms. The more ohms the higher ther resistance and the lower the conductivity.
