What is done for a broken pelvic bone?

Most of the time, pelvic fractures are treated surgically. A surgeon will expose the bone and create a structure to hold it in place while healing, made up of pins, plates, and wires. It's like a cast on inside of the skin instead of the outside.

There are two ways of dealing with a broken pelvic bone: either use surgery or not. In most cases, it heals without surgery.

For simple fractures, they heal by themselves. It's best to see a physician. For Severe cases of Broken Pelvic, doctors insert an External fixation to even out the pelvic
