The term "Ethnobotany" is used to describe the scientific study of the complex relationship between plants, (including the uses of plants) and humans. A ethnobotanist would study foods, vitamins, dyes, textiles, currency, clothing, and anything else that is associated with plants and people. The term was coined relatively recently, first being used in 1895 by botanist John William Harshberger.
