A worm emerging from a gray shell is most likely a clothes moth if found in the home. The larvae build "homes" of the material they are feeding on and carry themselves along in same.

Earthworms come out of eggshells (egg cases) when they are born. It's a really remarkable process to watch since most earthworms are supertwins and more than one worm will come out of each worm egg.

is it a snail? if so just let it be it really cannot harm anything not your plants or flowers or whatever you may have just let it be and dont bother it but if its somthing else i would kill it just incase it tries so kill your crop.
