The snake plant, also known as mother-in-law's tongue, is a tall blade-like houseplant. It does not require much light, water, or fertilizer, making it an ideal plant even for people who do not have a green thumb. Several cultivars have variegated edges, lighter green on the outside and darker in the middle.

Mother-In-Law's Tongue aka Snake Plant is a vertical growing, attractive and easy to care for house plant. The tough leaves resemble sword blades. It is a slow growing, long-lived plant that blooms under the right conditions. It can tolerate neglect, but of course will thrive if properly cared for.

The snake plant has tall leaves that look like swords and the blades rise right from the dirt, not from a stalk. They require very little water and moderate light. However, they are poisonous when ingested so keep away from children and pets. It is also known as the mother-in-law's tongue plant.

Lemon grass looks a lot like overgrown lawn grass. Lime green with a yellow or white stripe down the middle. Spider plants also have the same characteristics of lemon grass. Spider plants grow from a center bulb and sprout out into foot long blades, also green with a yellow or white strip.
