Clay pots, with their own cooling system, are best for plants. Hyponex and Miracle Gro are excellent and free from pests.

I personally suggest using well-balanced compost and potting soil for the very best results. If you don't have any compost, I've used Miracle Gro brand potting soil for various indoor plants and had a lot of luck with it. Places like Home Depot or Lowes have such a wide variety of potting soils for indoor plants.

The best is the kind you buy in the store. Just go to any K-Mart, Wal-Mart or hardware store and you will find potting soil sold in bags. You can also use natural soil from outide, but it should be black soil, not sand or gravel. Bake outside soil at 200 degrees for 30 minutes to kill weeds.

Making your own soil is healthiest for your plants. There are many ingredients you can add to get a rich, healthy soil. Pumice, vermiculite and coconut coir added to a composted bark based soil is a good idea, you can add in other soil components as well. Use your search engine to find good soil recipes.

In my opinion, the best potting soil to use indoors is Miracle Grow brand called 'Moisture Control'. It absorbs the water and then releases it when the roots need it.

You simply asked house plant. but we want to know the exact plan name then only repot the type of the soil that you want to use. Such type of soil is sutable for such type of plants only. Any have aluvial soil is commonly used for put in the pot for a house plant.
