The movie Congo has its scary moments. The movie is about a specially trained ape that is quite intelligent and an attempt to return him to the wild. When the group reaches where they are to leave him, they find a race of aggressive, carniverous apes that are quite scary. Story by Michael Crichton.

THere are several scary ape movies. The recent King Kong is pretty scary. The movie Congo is also pretty scary.

"Going Ape" is scary because of how bad it is. But "Congo" is scary in the more traditional sense. It's not a horror film, but it'll make you jump.

I thought the 2001 version of Planet of the Apes starring Mark Wahlberg was pretty scary, but then again I scare easy. It does fall under the Thriller category. There is also an older version that released in April of 1968, but I haven't seen that version, so I can't tell you if that one is scary or not.

All of the "Planet of the Apes" movies are scary! I think this is mostly because it turns our lives upside down and gives humans another perspective!
