The first movie that comes to mind is actually a movies series called Puppetmaster. A series of movies done in the late 80's and early 90's.

The best would be from the late 70's. The title is MAGIC and features a ventriloquist taken over by his freaky dummy. I believe Anthony Hopkins starred in this feature. If that doesn't scare your brother, you'll at least scare yourself but good. Also try Puppet Master, it's more recent.

Pinocchio's Revenge is a scary movie about the puppet Pinocchio. There is also a movie called Magic which is about a magician's ventriloquist. Dead Silence is another movie about a puppet. The puppet is also a ventriloquist's puppet in this movie and he looks very scary and freaky.

I don't know of a scary "puppet" movie. But, I do know a good scary movie about ventriloquist's dummies and dolls. It is called "Dead Silence". It was made a few years back and it is a horror film.

The movie "Saw" is a really good scary, very gory movie. Any of the "Child's Play" movies with Chuckie as the star are good also. You probably could find a Chuckie doll in the toy department that would help with your joke. I also like "Puppetmaster" and of course "Friday the 13th".

The best choice of a puppet movie would be Puppetmaster. This is above all else the scariest puppet movie of all time. Next best would be Child's Play.
