Precipitation happens when solutes leave solvents. I know a few ways. here is one Single replacement of metals in a water solution. Example is copper salts in water [looks blue]will lose copper when another metal [aluminum foil] is added. The solution goes clear and the aluminum goes into solution and copper PRECIPITATES rusty as a solid ;-)

chemical reaction in which precipitants are formed. these precipitants are usually salts like Nacl ( sodium chloride ). one of the most famous precipitant in body is cholesterol which causes stones in gall bladder.
