A green wood boring beetle of the buprestid family has been know to bite humans. It is a common pest of log homes in the East and Southeasten United States. This type of bettle is common around sugar refineries and saw mills.

The only green insects that can bite you are the calls bugs "chinches in Mexico" some of them very dangerous, the majority of this type of insects when you take hold them, they secretes a very stinking substance but is not dangerous. Some green ladybugs can bite you but the bite is painless.
