What is a good way to prepare for my SAT writing paper?

You should go to the SAT website or purchase a prep book and simply practice writing this type of essay in a timed situation. Also practice with a friend.

Practice writing, pick any topics that you find interesting and just write away. You can also have your teachers make corrections to it. I'm sure that if you told them what was it that you were writing for they will help you out. Like they say practice makes perfect.

Go to a website that have sample writing test topics. Pick one, and then time yourself for the same time allowed during the actual test. This will help you with time management and you have practice improving your writing.

Practice writing essays in a standard five paragraph form with and introduction, three paragraphs of support, and a conclusion. Try a variety of topics.
