The Remington 700 is a hunting rifle so you need to have the best quality ammo you can find. Federal makes high quality ammo in several different loads depeding on what you are hunting.

You want to use 150-165 grain. Buy as many different brands and shoot all of them. The rifle will show a preference for one or two of the loads.

The Remington 700 is/was a fairly cheap rifle to purchase. Expensive ammo is not needed for this type of gun just match the caliber of the rifle to the ammo.
