What is a good hotel to stay at in Las Vegas?

it doesn't need to be fancy, just a good, relatively inexpensive place to stay.

Having stayed at several Las Vegas hotels, relatively inexpensive means staying Monday through Thursday instead of weekends. Do a Yahoo search of Las Vegas hotels to compare rates. Check hotel websites for specials. From experience, off Strip, The Orleans; on Fremont Street, Golden Nugget with $59/$69 specials; on the Strip, the Monte Carlo, Luxor, and Excalibur are nice.

I like Harrahs! They practically give the room away if you spend time gambling and it doesn't have to be spending a ton of money gambling either. They are very generous and will also write off meals and shopping if you charge it to your room. Be sure you join their rewards program which is free before you check in.

All my girlfriends decided to go on a trip to Lost Wages, I mean Las Vegas in April, we had a blast staying at the Excaliber and it is fairly inexpensive and they have tons of places to eat and a fairly good buffet, you should see if you can get a package deal where your airfare is included.

Fremont street is great way to go... yes its off the strip but the deals are much better, and its easy to get to the strip from there anyway.
