Aluminum is probably not strong enough for use as a frame. I would look into some form of mild steel tubing. Square would be easier to cut flush and weld.

a good material for a go kart frames its can be from any metal material, or even wood but if you want low weight we can use aluminum alloy or magnesium this metal is strong and very light material but do not to close with fire, because it is flammable also.
