What are some good ways to go about framing family photos for a staircase?

I always see photos on other people's staircases and it looks so good.

It can look good if you don't make the staircase look "too busy". Just try not to put too many pictures up. I like it when people put the pictures in separate frames and put the pictures in a descending order as if the photos are going down the stairs with you.

Pick a unifying element for framing (color and style). Hang groupings at eye level, following the slope of the stairs, with equal spacing (1"-3") between pictures.

To obtain a sleek look, use frames of the same colors, not necessarily the same shape. They can be aligned in a row beginning from the bottom riser, going all the way to the top riser. As more photos become available, offset those either under or over the existing photos.

I have always thought it looks great when people have photos of their kids, oldest to youngest starting at the top of the stairs, and working their way down to the bottom. You would have to space them out to go all the way down. Another thing is to match the frames to match the rest of your home.
