What is a good idea for fall wedding invitations?

Something in golden, forest green, burgundy and other darker colors. For a very formal wedding, dark colored invitations with gold writing are gorgeous. For something less formal, adding small leaf accents would be beautiful.

i thinking putting leaves on the invit with glue and lay a book on them leave of all different color. and the writing should be done in fall colors and love

Warm colors are good for fall weddings. One idea is to use a leaf cut out on the top page of the invitation, with a different color showing underneath the top page.
