Most bridal stores do carry simpler gowns. However, good department stores carry evening wear that could be more affordable. This is also an opportunity for a seamstress too become affordable and add your own touch to your gown. Don't forget to check ebay and craig's list!

You should try a dress that is cotton or linen instead of silk or lace. Eyelet lace is a great way to add a little flare.
