Aloe vera is a fairly standard and tried remedy. If you aren't growing any and don't have any handy, from a friend or lotion form, I'd suggest warm oatmeal pack. I've also used tiger balm, ginger root, ice packs and sweet grass as temporary remedies. Not everything works right away or well, though.

For minor burns, the best remedy is to use Aloe Vera gel. It stops the blister from forming. Potato peels also will reduce the burning sensation.

Minor burns can be differentiated from major burns by just redness in the area, with no blistering or charring. Minor (first degree) burns can be treated with cold water to stop burning and then carefully blotted dry and loosely wrapped with gauze for protection.
