Sony makes some great dvd players with screens on them. They are a tad bit expensive but they do not break as easily and are very very durable. I own one right now and I am very satisfied with it.
Most of the sony models with screens are pretty good. The panasonics also work quite well. If I were buying one tomorrow I would buy a Sony. They've always worked well for me.
