If you think your son is a criminal, and it's a minor we are talking about (below the age of eighteen), you should definitely try to talk with him. Pay attention to what he does and says, and who his friends are. You should let him know why you think he might be involved in crime, and try to help.

If you suspect him of wrongdoing, you have an obligation to turn him in due to his misdeeds. However, have more evidence than mere suspicion. Do not report him on the suspicion of a crime if you have no proof, or you risk both the relationship and any criminal charges.
