You can get very sick and even die. The wrong blood type can make your blood clump and give you real problems.

One of these reactions is a hemolytic reaction, which destroys red blood cells and will kill the patient. The body will recognize the blood as a foreign object, which is an antigen-antibody reaction. This can lead to blood clotting.

It all depends on what type of blood was given, if there is going to be an reaction it would happen within 15minutes of recieveing the blood.
