A learnership is basically an apprenticeship program in which you are being payed while learning on the job tasks with your trainer and company. Many trades are in this fashion.

A learnership is, in a nutshell, on the job training in the classroom. It combines theory at a college or training center with relevant practice on-the-job. Employers can offer learnerships to their own employees or can recruit unemployed people for training. So, it really opens up a wide range of opportunity for employers to higher people and for job seekers.

When you work for a company and some of your skills need improvement they may enter you into a learner-ship program. In this program you would learn to improve your skills by learning from someone else that is in the company. It is a popular trend in the business world today.
