What does the HFP test determine?

I think it has something to do with the liver.

These letters are an abbreviation for a Hepatic Function Profile, and as you have guessed, this blood test checks the function of the liver. Different liver enzymes are tested to see how well the liver is performing its function of cleaning and filtering the blood. Elevated test results are a sign of liver problems.

Hepatic Function Panel (HFP) test are given to Post-Cholecystectomy Syndrome OST-CHOLECYSTECTOMY SYNDROME which are symtoms that occur after removal of the gallbladder. It does has things to do with the liver as the HFP test helps to determine the function of the liver.

HFP is an hepatic function panel, which is a series of tests for liver function. Hepatitis patients, for example, have an HFP run about every six months.

One cant tell if the test are normal,as she laboratory has their own ranges. If you have the copy of the test,you need to state what the normal ranges are. They will be to the right of your result.
