This is part of your white blood cells. White blood cells are your bodies natural infections fighters. When a part of this is low it makes it difficult for your body to fight infection. People undergoing chemotherapy are quite susceptible to low neutrophil count.

Neutrophils are a type of White Blood Cell (WBC) and are needed to fight infections, especially bacteria. Their count is decreased in some severe infections. However if the count is persistently decreased one must consider problems like bone marrow depression and even leukemia.

Neutrophil Granulocyte is a component of immune system, commonly linked to "white blood cells". The human body creates white blood cells to fight infection and foreign particles in the blood. A low number of these blood cells signifies germs or infection becoming too strong for the body to fight and the # of white blood cells are low, "neutrophilis".

Neutrophils are white blood cells. They are produced in bone marrow and fight infections, like bacterial and fungal infections. A low neutrophil count means that a person is more vulnerable to infection.
