There is a natural condition called "winter nose" which the dog's nose changes to a lighter color during winter season. The nose will return to black color by summer time. Another reason could be aging. As dog age, the enzyme that produce pigmentation breaks down and so the nose can turn lighter as they gets older.

Sometimes as animals age their skin pigment will change. Thus the skin on their nose can change color as well.

Usually puppies are born with pink noes, then as they get older they become more and more black until their entire nose is black. However, some dogs have some pink that remains on their nose their entire lives.

I have always heard that when a dogs nose is pink instead of black that they are running a fever. I would think that this could be a sign of illness. He nose should be wet feeling also. You should call a vet and see what they tell you or you might could reasearch it on the web.
