What does it mean when a cats nose is pink?

A cat's nose can be pink, black, or any shade in between - much like cats can have a wide variety of colors and patterns of fur, cats' noses have different colors depending on genes, surrounding fur color and skin pigmentation. You may notice cats with dark facial fur tend to have dark noses, while lighter-colored cats have pink noses.

This can mean any number of things. It can mean that it is a new born kitten or that it is indeed sick.
