This is usually scar tissue from a wound that has healed. It's just like when humans get cut, scabs form and then the tissue heals underneath it, leaving a lighter colored skin when it is healed. If the spots appeared suddenly, the dog may have gotten into something he shouldn't have.

Pink spots on the dog's nose are just a pigment change. This is usually due to cold weather, even if the dog is inside. When weather gets warmer the pink splotches usually go away.

It is possible that the pink spots on the nose are simply caused by aging, and are entirely natural, as is the dogs nose turning pink in winter.

It may be something as simple as sunburn, or just loss of pigmentation. Sometimes scratching or excessive licking can also cause this. If the dog seems irritated, or turns from you when trying to touch it's nose, applying hydrocortisone cream, which is available at pet stores.
