The normal heartbeat can vary quite a lot, depending on your age, the time of day, your physical fitness, what meds you take, on the temperature around you. If you think it's unusually slow, go see a doctor. He/she can rule out a lot with just a stethoscope.

If your heart is beating really slow, this is called "bradycardia." In this condition, the heart beats under 60 beats per minute. This is often caused by low sodium or other electrolytes.
