At only 7 weeks of pregnacy it's difficult to hear a heartbeat with those small monitors used in the medical office. The only way will be with an ultrasound machine.

The heart begins beating during week 5, but it typically can't be heard until sometime between week 7 and 9. No reason to worry at this point.

Some expectant mother will not hear their baby's heart beat until the fifth month or more. Sometimes it's a matter of chance for a doctor to hear the heart beat but most won't be able to find it until at least the third month.

Fetal Heart Sounds [FHS] become audible only after fetal heart starts functioning in the second trimester of pregnancy. Fetal Heart Sounds are audible only after 3 months of pregnancy - somewhere in 4th or 5th month of successful gestation. If fetus is in LOA position, fetoscope should be placed on fetal spine on right side. Normal Fetal Rate 120/minute.
